I'm not sure who came up with the fixtures for the first 3 rounds this year but you could be forgiven for thinking it was Neale Fong's missus.

The South Gero Debt Dodgers played round 1 on a Thursday, then had a 9 day break before playing Perth on Saturday who had the late game against Subi the previous weekend.  Now the jerkers play Subi next weekend who will only have 6 days to recover from a very tough game in 37 degree heat.

Clearly, not a lot of thought went into devising the fixtures to make it the same for all teams.

don't go hoping for anything all that much better mate - the two AFL whores demand their fixtures are kept separate to all other teams in this supposed "competition"
what comes with that shitty trailer is the bit that causes unbalance with all the sides - Nisbett demanded home games after reneging on the away fixtures only bullshit he fed everyone to get in the door
(farken parasite good riddance to that slimy cunning rat bastard too by the way)

Whilst I agree with you BC about the inconsistencies with the fixtures in terms of equality re: rest and recovery. Not sure the fixtuing folk can predict the weather that far in advance mate.....37 ° in April ain't a regular occurrence surely?

Clearly not freez...but my point is that Subi will have had 8 and 6 days recovery after rounds 1 and 2 whilst WP have 9 and 7. Not ideal at any time but in particular, when they're trying to get over a punishing 37 degree day.

This late heat is really not a good thing for recovery, and we are starting the season a bit later as well, seems to be the way it is now though and getting warmer and drier, never seen parks and grounds looking so dusty and dry.

BC, seriously !!! I can remember years gone by when we had been in that situation, swings and roundabouts mate. If it was Fong's missus, not only did she do a good job with the fixturing, she's a genius at predicting weather. In regards to the "debt dodgers" comment, that is the pot calling the kettle black isn't it, you blokes stitched up the entire comp for the best part of 20 years !

Warmer temps later into the year are becoming more and more common Freeze, they really need a better mindset to manage this, we should be having a lot more night games to start the season.

By the way I thought the lights at Joondalup were very good. Light poles are set further back so don't obstruct spectator view and are very high.

Perth's first League game during the day isn't until May 4th at the Kennel.  I think you will see more of these late afternoon/twilight games more in the years to come.

If thats the case then I hope Vincent Council can come to the party and upgrade the lights at Leedo which are barely training lights level.
