Incredible to think that Basketball Australia said they couldn't guarantee Bryce Cotton would be in the starting 5 for Australia so they withdrew their support for him to be granted an exceptional talent visa or whatever they call it. FMD YOU. CAN'T. MAKE. THIS. SHIT. UP. I reckon old fart Brian Goorjan had a lot to do with that.

He is an amazing player and so consistent. Can't understand why they wouldn't consider him for the Boomers

Unclear when Cotton first came to Australia, he apparently applies for citizenship in twenty 19. Immigrants need to be residing here for a certain length of time before applying. His application seems l o n g ago and still not been granted for some reason! And yet other people seem to have no issues with the process. Apparently he's lost interest in the national team which is fantastic for the wildcat fans I guess. Just wonder if the national basketball has thrown obstacles in his path for some reason?

Bryce has nothing to prove to anyone.
He does appear to have a fire in his belly. Playing well even by his high standards.
Bryce contract is currently $600,000 +personal sponsorship and endorsements.Apsolute bargain when you consider some of the 1 million dollar AFL duds.
Pretty sure if Bryce was east coat based. He would already be a Boomer.Welcome to Wa ,lol.

Heard a commentator say the other day this is his 7th year in the NBL. I remember Brian Goorjan was coaching Illawarra around the time this exceptional talent visa application was going on and I think Trevor Gleeson had been an assistant under I think Brett Brown at the Boomers. Brown resigned to take up a head coach job in the NBA and Gleeson applied for the job but old man Brian got it. He'd been coaching in I think China or Japan for about 6 or 7 years prior to that.

Gleeson was pretty pissed he didn't get the job, wonder why hey? If he was a successful coach at the Sydney Kings or Melbourne United he probably coaches the Boomers and if Bryce is playing under Trevor in one of those teams, then he has citizenship by now and is playing for the Boomers.

Bancroft being snubbed, Glory getting screwed by FA. Has a consistent theme to it doesn't it?

And Gleeson is in his second job already as an NBA assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks who won the NBA Championship in 2021 and sit second in the eastern conference. What's Brian's other job? Has he ever coached in the NBA?

WAG he came out to Perth midway through the 2016/17 NBL season from memory and unbelievably his citizenship is still dragging on despite marrying a Perth girl and having an Australian born child years ago now.

Cheers BH. That all ties in with the time frame. There should be no reason why the process should be dragging on like it is. Sounds like road blocks are being put in place by a third party for some reason? Although a good immigration agent should be able to act smoothly without too many hassles one would think?
