Things seem to be getting worse. another interest rate hike taking them to the highest in 12 years, no sign of reprieve in fuel, rent, and housing costs, the retailers are using these to push up grocery prices and a lot more just seem to going up with no end it sight.

Banks are making huge profits on the increase in mortgage rates, and they pass on very little to savers. It stinks of a rort.

Likewise , Coles and Woolworths are raking it in using any excuse to push up prices.

The RBA are using a hammer on the same people who are already getting hit hard, fuel is up but people have no choice to buy it so the spending doesn't drop, the same with housing and rent, you have to pay it to keep a roof over your head, high interest rates just make it worse people and won't stop the inflation.

Bringing in 400,000 new people in one year seems like its fueling the fire to me and outright madness when rents are soaring and there is a housing shortage. All this is pushing up inflation and demand.

Albo spends most of his time on the piss OS, or blowing billions on referendums, Chalmers thinks he can grin his way out of a mess - people have stopped listening to them. Interest rates haven't been an election issue in decades but in 18 months they will be.

Bunch of clowns who call themselves academics. They are totally and completely out of touch. Elites running the asylum. I thought there was supposed to be change with two separate boards that were supposed to give a broader perspective on the impact of interest rates?

Looks to me like they are enjoying rise in interest rates on their fixed term deposits and are keen to keep that going. In the meantime lives are ruined biggest impact being on those who can least afford it and young families which means the young kids of today will suffer because their parents can't cope and can't afford to provide for their kids.

Boom time for real estate agents with mortgagee sales and family law lawyers. Well you spuds that call yourselves politicians you are fucking clueless.

It's a snowball effect isn't it? Everyone says well my costs are rising so I have to increase my prices. $180 per hour I've been quoted recently my dealerships and non dealerships services. Absolute joke how can they justify that?

No bulk bill clinics around anywhere anymore. My local clinic went mixed billing less than 12 months ago. Initially the gap was about $15. Now it just under $30. Standard fucking 10 minute consult $70. I thought time to switch to another clinic that was 100% bulk bill. Nope they've gone mixed billing now.

Absolute greed is fuelling the cost of living crisis.

The RBA language  is more than confusing.
Statments like the employment market is too strong.People have to much money, saved. And need to spend it on mortages .Not retail spending.
Home owners, investors and business owners .Are responsible  for global wars and the Saudis reducing oil production.
Time for a Frazer government total price freeze like in 1982/83.

The current fed govt (and the previous one) don't have a clue! Old chalmers wouldn't know what year it was. The current pm only interested in the photo opportunities and to travel everywhere. The cost of living crisis been with us for a number of years and sadly looks like continuing. Doesn't look like any relief in sight anywhere. Pollies could be building it up to be the next big election issue?

That incompetent moron Elbows and his band of merry duds are happy to sit back and let the RBA take all the flak, while doing zippo themselves. This issue cant be solved just by the blunt destructive instrument of interest rates. Governments need to look as a miriad of ways to assist those struggling to cope with the massive COL situation. This Fed govt and previous governments are just plain lazy and or lack the courage and moral conviction to actually do something. I'm amazed that generally, the unions have been deathly quiet on the COL issue, but then again it is their own puppet government. Imagine if it was the libs currently in power, there would be a general strike and riots in the street.

This Fukn IDIOT we have to call PM is beautifully described in Wiki.

The oozlum bird, also spelled ouzelum, is a  legendary creature  found in Australian and British folk tales and legends. Some versions have it that, when startled, the bird will take off and fly around in ever-decreasing circles until it manages to fly up its own backside, disappearing completely, which adds to its rarity. [1]  Other sources state that the bird flies backwards so that it can admire its own beautiful tail feathers, or because while it does not know where it is going, it likes to know where it has been. [2]

Is there a better description of our cockhead pm????

Agree with you on health costs, seems to me Medicare has pretty much collapsed as a viable public health system, they announced some new deal, but it only effected people on health care cards.

My last two BB GPs in the area gave up on it about a year ago and a basic consult ranges from $80 - $120 , for 15 minutes in the area. The gap is pretty big now and the Medicare levy isnt going down.

What about Dentists, rang around for some quotes on a basic check up - they are pushing prices up as well, around $200 plus and the private insurance is getting harder and harder justify paying due to the gaps.

This mole no different than the last RBA governor. They live in a bubble. This stupid putrid mole blames inflation on people getting haircuts and dental treatments. FMD the nutters are running the asylum. Completely out of touch and what is our government doing about it? SFA.
