East Perth are very very good. Every minor skill error from Perth was punished swiftly and accurately. Great effort from Perth to hang in there. Some good signs. But boy oh boy, will the injury curse ever end?

What is the appropriate crowd . Looks a great crowd about 3200 to me. The West Australian will have it at 1100 tomorrow I bet.

Yeah magnificent crowd. Great atmosphere at the ground on both sides of the oval. Top marks to whoever got the doof doof turned down after half time.

Anxac day twilight game is a winner as judged by the attendance.
Perth have improved a lot from last year with a few recruits.I don't think anyone will want to take them for granted. Had me worried after those three goals quick goals after the half time break.
Glad to get the points and the highlight for me was Schofields snap from the boundary oat the Carlisle end.
This eason seems a lot more ven at the moment.

Well FMD Schlensog plays his first game but lost Sam Simpson and Aaron Clarke for 2-3 weeks and 3-4 respectively then 5 minutes into the second qtr we lose Constable. The way he reacted it doesn't look good but an ankle I think rather than a knee. Hopefully just a sprain.

Jones dominated the ruck but when we got first hands on it at the beginning of the second qtr e banged on 3 quick goals but EP got back on top in the clearances and kicked a couple of quick ones. I thought we did well to stay competitive and keep EP honest with just a 3 goal margin at 3/4 time and we had a couple of moments in the last but not making the most of our scoring opportunities hurt us and basic skill errors in the midfield gifted EP a few goals.

We can take a few positives out of it but we are in a perilous position now with 2 gun midfielders out for best part of a month I am guessing and Aaron Clarke out for a month.

And heard disturbing news that Jack Poole might be forced to retire due to concussion, just a week after playing the best game of his career. All of this and the injury to Jack Avery on the eve of the season opener has truly fucked us.

Hopefully Schlensog pulls up ok he did a power of work in his first senior game for the club and played mostly forward but spent periods down back and a few appearances in the ruck.

Injury curse hits us again.
I think Schenslog will be better for the run.
To me he looked like he  needed it.
He will be good for us.

Yes it looks like an ankle.
Hopefully the 10 day break will help.

Yes, looked like an ankle. But in addition it seems he was reported on field and also it appeared that he had words with the reserve umpire as he came off the field. Wait and see.
As we find with West Perth, so too with the Royals. They are physically stronger with more height around the field. Also they stick their marks and cut us to ribbons with fast sustained running. And also take their opportunities in front of goals.
Far too often we saw two EP players run full length of the field, taking and giving handballs and ending up taking a mark deep in the forward line and then kicking a goal.
We cannot deal with that and are unable to replicate it ourselves. A 3 goal loss did somewhat seem a tad flattering.
Q kicked 4 goals but missed shots from in front. Also Schlensog and one or two more. Perhaps the end result could have been closer.
Sadly, we are still well behind the pack.
