C2 football is upon us as the season is finally here. Let’s hope that this season is as exciting as last year’s and we all play within the spirit of the game! Iv been told the umpires are really cracking down on things this year! I’m sure clubs had plenty of scratch matches in the lead up, but I’m sure there will be a few cob webs to dust off for a few of us still.
mKingsley host Piara and Piara looks like to get some depth behind them after finally getting a colts team up and running. Kingsley fishing at the bottom end last year but there ressies won the flag…. Let’s see if any push up.Piara by 6 goals

Kwinana travel to Belmont and last year’s c3 premiers are in for a big first hit out. Kwinana will bring the heat and welcome the bombers to c2 in style.Kwinana by 5 goals

it’s been a bit quiet over at the Hawks nest as I haven’t heard much news in the off season. I’m hoping that they haven’t lost any of there star players from last year. Valley always a tough task out there in the grape fields but I think Gossy will get it done.Hawks by 5 goals

Some big name recruits joining willo over the break, this should help them bounce back and potentially play finals footy. Cobras get a first taste of the action but I think willo will be too strong.Willo by 8 goals

Another team that has come up to c2 is the eels and there first up against Quinn’s. I think Quinn’s started to come good towards end of last season, I haven’t seen the eels play for a while so not too sure how they will go. If they stay competitive they’ll be ok.Quinn’s by 3 goals

 Good luck everyone

Footy is finally back KTB!

sucks we can't see who is on the move to know what's really happening around the traps so word of mouth of social media it is! An exciting prospect for some C2 clubs is playing under the new Valley lights at nearly 300 lux. They're superb and we can even see the ball at training now so might help us a bit. We have asked some clubs to change fixtures so each of our teams gets to play a night game and they have all said yes so far. Club rooms are next on the agenda for upgrades.

Kingsley Vs Piara - Kingsley didn't have a great year last year and hopefully have some new recruits or could be another long year. One of my mates has come back out of retirement for thirds so I hope that isn't a sign of numbers (or talent as I keep telling him). Piara snuck in to 5th last year and always thereabouts. Have nothing to go on for form so Piara by a few goals

Valley Vs Hawks - GOTR - What a rip snorter of a game this is to open round 1. Both team played finals and both games were great games last year. If you want to know where C2 is at this year these 2 will set the bench mark early. I'm tipping Valley at home by 3 goals.

Willetton Vs Cobras - I know nothing of the Cobras and Willetton were lucky not to get relegated with Kingsley last year. I've heard they have new recruits but haven't been told of the names but they weren't actually that bad last year. Best 13-5 team you'll ever come across I think I said. Willo to open 2024 with a win by 3 goals

Ellenbrook Vs Quinns - Ellenbrook have got the lucky dog as they say in racing and allowed to overtake the pace car to get a lap back and in to C2. I get to sledge Whitey and their cruiser drinking coach weekly on here which will be fkn awesome .... They have picked up a few recruits from Basso and will do well and play finals. Quinns had an up and down year and hopefully they have recruited as well. Eels by 5 goals to open their season.

Belmont Vs Kwinana - Got another mate coaching Belmont and he took them to a flag did ol Flavs .... the big man will love the step up to C2 and gets to take on constant finals team Kwinana. It took them a few games last year to find their feet did the Knights and looking at the teams this year they can ill afford that this year. I'm tipping the Knights by a goal.

Good luck all and enjoy the frothies!

What a ripping round 1 with a couple surprises as usual!

Piara opened up their account against Kingsley and the scoreboard suggests Kingsley were in the game with inside 50's but couldn't convert.
Belmont with more scoring shots but lost to Kwinana
Valley with 5 more scoring shots lost to Gosnells
Cockburn took care of The Blues in their first C2 game
Quinns went bang over The Eels

Valley with 1.11 at one stage which ultimately cost them the game ... 11.1 or even 8.4 the game would have been out of reach. Hawks stayed in it and withstood the last quarter barrage to take the win. Hawks in the reserves came out a different team to the first half with one guy kicking 4 up front to turn the game in their favour in what was 2 cracking games of football. Both teams will be in the 5 again for sure.
