Lets get some commentary going for the B Grade comp.

Lets re-cap

Mt Lawley and Wanneroo have hit the big leagues after a successful 2022 season. Both deserving of their chance. I see Wanneroo had a tough start against University and while Mt Lawley was competitive against Kingsley. Always a tough ask going up a grade, I wish both teams all the best.

Into B Grade
North Fremantle (A Grade)
)Bassendean (A Grade)
Kalamunda (C1)
Hamersley Carine (C1)

From the outside looking in it appears that their won’t be too many easy games with most clubs consistently in the C1 – A Grade comps in recent years. So I’d be expecting a competitive season overall.

From the weekend:

North Freo vs Baldivis – this was an eye opener given the recruits at North Freo picked up over the summer and playing opening round on the home deck, I didn’t expect a 6 goalwinning margin to the Brumbies. While Baldivis have their own key recruits, from all I’m hearing it’s the coach that is getting the praise with game style and buy in from the playing group.

Hamersley Carine vs Wembley – While the Wembley colts and reserves had solid wins, the league side had a tougher hit out, but got the win all the same. Hamersley may be coming up a grade, they will be a solid team especially on the large home ground. You can see the Carine junior program is flowing through the club. On a side note, only because I’m Wembley supporter the Clubs newly promoted A Grade womens team had a first up win

I’ve not heard much on the other games but here’s my thoughts:

Bassendean vs Bullcreek Leeming – Good win by the Bombers against the former A Grade. Anyone know if Basso have had some significant player changes?

Ocean Ridge vs Kalamunda – Tough assignment and decent road trip for the Cougars first up. Ocean Ridge were a tough outfit last year and I can’t see this being any different in 2023.

Collegians Vs Whitfords – two teams you’d expect to be fighting it out in the finals and I’m not surprised by the 6 point margin.

Be great to hear from any other B Grade followers on what you saw or hearing, throw in some comments on your womens team because this competition has been great for the clubs involved.

And Mr Mysterious, I know you are watching from above, be keen to hear your canteen thoughts in the lofty surroundings you now walk in.

Whitford vs Collegians was a tight tussle, lot of feeling in this one.
Whitfords out of the blocks early kicking the first few, then couldn't continue with the momentum and struggled in the 2nd & 3rd quarters.
Collegians kicked the first of the final term with Whitford kicking the next 6 to fall just short.
Can't see many blow outs this year, competition will be tight this year IMO.
