They say a week is a long time in football, well let me tell you, a week watching football on the couch in isolation seemed to absolutely fly by and by Wednesday MrM was back to work and off the couch.
Trusty readers will be pleased to know MrM watched the greatest game of football ever played only once, (bonus beers on MrM if you guess the game– leave your opinion below). So fresh off a week on the couch MrM is excited to get out and about and enjoy the beautiful sunshine that is Perth… On a serious note, MrM cannot wait for the next few weeks, as MrM loves nothing more than exercising his democratic right and will be doing so in 2 weeks’ time and making sure you all do the right thing and do so as well.

On the field though, things are looking quite evenly spread across the board with a nice evenness flavour to it and things may only get tighter as the season rolls along. Each week you must be prepared to bring you best or any side on any day can get the job done, that is right folks, you have heard it from MrM first, bring your best or you will be found out. Let us look to this weekend.

Swan Athletic v Wembley @Swan Athletic Sporting Club

The rise and fall of the Swan Athletic Football Club can be attributed to changing the name of the oval and what happened to Mr Fawell? MrM will not rest until we get a definitive answer. Swan Ath have struggled so far this season, MrM is hearing all sorts of commotion at the club, but am sure once things settle, but could this be the weekend they get back on track? Another club who has had an indifferent start to the season is Wembley who managed to break their drought, on the back of some clear tough times off the field with numbers, but things are moving right now, and I can see the Wombles getting it done again.
Wembley by 3 goals

Bullcreek Leeming v Baldivis @Beasley Reserve

What an important game this is for Bullcreek as a win and they can stay in touch with the Top 5 in the ladder whereas a loss may see themselves fall back perilously close to the relegation zone, but still plenty in the season to play out for that. Baldivis are the real deal, believe as MrM does and you will not be disappointed.  Think even away form home they pose a threat and the certainly do at home, I can see them winning here.
Baldivis by 3 goals

Collegians v Whitford @David Cruickshank Reserve

Probably game of the Round here for all concerned. Collegians got back to the winners list last weekend and at home are a scary prospect and we know the boys form the GT do not like to lose at home. Meanwhile Whitford were defeated last week for the first time, and from what MrM heard, they were right in it all game, so its sure to be a close one here. Have these two wonderful sides faced each other since the gent from Whitford ran into an open goal, showed the football and the proceeded to not touch it for the rest of the game as they lost to Collegians in a final? Whitford haven’t tasted finals since, so it was a great moment.  Get down and watch the dew kickers early, 14 on 14 or whatever numbers each side have this week. Either way I think Collegians will win the main game here.
Collegians by 2 goals

Mt Lawley v Melville @Inglewood Oval

What a monumental mismatch this may be. Mt Lawley are flying at the moment and are playing some very good football and we all know that Melville are not. Mt Lawley boast the new shiny clubrooms, new shiny ground and players with experience, Melville do not.  I think Melville will come out all guns blazing, surprise a few and then Mt Lawley will kick into gear and win by a solid margin.
Mt Lawley by 5 goals

Wanneroo v Ocean Ridge @Wanneroo Showgrounds

The Norther Suburbs battles continue here between Wanneroo and the Onions. Wanneroo had a good strong win last weekend, but MrM fears he may have spread the virus around with some dropping of this weekend. Onion Ridge are coming off a good strong win last weekend, but I don’t expect them to win at the showgrounds especially with Wanneroo raring to go. They did not play last season due to games cancellations, so it has been a good strong 10 years between drinks and hopefully Onion Ridge have that clash jumper sorted.
Wanneroo by 3 goals.

Good luck to all.

Great write up Mr M. Glad to hear you’ve kicked the spicy cough in time for the weekend.

My tips:
Wembley - I think the monkey is off the back and they’ll start to string a few wins together now. Still not sure that they are anywhere near the top 3 this year though.

Baldivis - Look the goods and will be disappointed to have dropped a close one at home (albeit to the only undefeated team). Creek haven’t been terrible, most games have been within 2-3 goals.

Whitford - Both sides will be very happy with their starts, but on the toss of a coin I’ll got the warriors with an away win in the GT

Mt Lawley - The only undefeated team vs the cellar dwellers. What’s going on at Melville? Where have all of last year’s players gone?

Wanneroo - Winning the big games always gives a side confidence and getting up over Whitfords last week will do just that.
Ridge to put up a fight, but it won’t be enough.

Good luck all

Mr M, the chicken burger at Collegians was absolutely on point today. Do yourself a favour and get one, you won’t be disappointed.

Thanks Mr Shiz.
Good to see you back online, obviously have been in hiding, much like the North Padbury teenagers at the moment.

MrM will be sure to check it out next time.

Hopefully now we can get a good run of games leading into the back of the year. Most in the club have recovered from the spicy cough.
Can’t imagine what it would be like if it rips through a club come finals time.
