Injuries and unavailables have decimated both sides and nothing can be taken from this win other than our B & C graders were better today
Yes we do like Joondy – we like it very much and do not mind the trip up the freeway one iota , we do like those big wide open welcoming spaces you know just as nice as mum’s steak pies farken lovely
There is an ancient rivalry – been a hell of a lot of games , it’s right up there as far as rivalries go and to be honest the boys lifted for Marshy as we were poor in the funeral game against East Perth – Steve Marsh was dangerous against the da Cardinales
But we tried bloody hard to chuck it to them for 3 quarters – got to bloody stop the sissy short nothing kick and the frenzied handball in patches , it’s shit and we get hurt when it coughs out , Strommy just could not clunk them in
Found a good one in Matthew Carr’s boy Jaren – was lively and did not look out of place , loved Rob Turnbull , Issy Winder was dangerous and set up some good plays , Branchi had some very good tapwork – brings me to the Schloithe , now he has been at times a little rusty in this comeback but he was absolutely pivotal and hugely influential way too much for West Perth to handle today – and the games of Parker , Blechynden , Pearson helped out Mainy was big too

Your boys played well Southie and were the better side on the day in what was a hard fought match.FMD if Schoilte doesn’t grow another leg when he plays us! Couldn’t he have stayed retired! He was definitely the most influential player on the ground and his work in the clinches was outstanding.In tight games like that the grunt work he does is invaluable.SF have flown under the radar a bit but in such an even season any side can surprise.I think the ladder will be fluid over the next few weeks but SF have as good a chance as anyone to progress.Liked some of your youngsters yesterday so pretty promising.

This win is great for the comp given not many had Souths in the frame for finals, just another indication that the finals race looks like going right down to the wire.
